Every year, we host a summer BBQ to thank our contractors and in-house team members, and their families, for the hard work and dedication they bring to every project. The BBQ is always a ton of fun, and this year was no different. We saw some new faces (some were new contractors, others were brand-new babies!) and old friends. A gaggle of dogs kept the energy up, and we couldn’t have picked better weather – the heat was just right thanks to the slight breeze, even if it meant a bit of searching for wayward frisbees.
Big thanks to Chef John and his team at Moonlight Catering for preparing a tasty meal served by friendly and attentive staff – it’s always a pleasure to work with professionals who clearly enjoy their craft. “One of the things we really love about having the BBQ catered,” said Ed McDonald, “is that it lets us get away from the grill and visit with everyone. Moonlight makes this event delicious and fun.”
Cornhole!
You may have noticed the fancy, regulation-sized cornhole (aka: bean bag toss) boards that were set up for everyone. Ed worked with the MAC carpentry team to build the boards to the American Cornhole Association’s standards, then he varnished them up, picked up some regulation-weight beanbags, and set the boards up at the legal distance. From the way everyone was playing, we might have some serious contenders for a cornhole tournament – maybe next year!
Thank you again to all of the professionals – and their spouses – for helping us make amazing homes for families throughout Victoria. We couldn’t do this without you.
