Hal Ferris is a West Coast original who spent eleven years honing his craft in Montreal before returning to the Island with his partner to raise their family. Like many busy parents, Hal’s downtime revolves around his two young ones: beach days along Dallas Road, park visits, and forest walks measured in toddler-sized strides. When he can carve out a quiet moment between family and work, you might find him pursuing his passion for playing instruments.
A Red Seal carpenter and certified cabinetmaker, Hal also holds a joint English and History degree from Concordia University, rounded out by ongoing project management and leadership training. After years as a lead carpenter with MAC Reno Design Build, developing work procedures, training apprentices, and mentoring fellow carpenters, Hal stepped into the Construction Manager role, where he coordinates crews and resources across every active project, upholds our quality standards through hands-on site reviews, and helps the next generation of lead carpenters grow into their roles. His wide-ranging experience, from foundations to fine finishing, helps ensure every MAC Reno Design Build project in Victoria is built right, on time, and on budget, and that’s something we can all be proud of.
